April-Words I live by- Full Metal Jacket

Gunnery Sergeant Hartman:
Bullshit. It looks to me like the best part of you ran down the crack
of your mamma's ass and ended up as a brown stain on the mattress.
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman:
I'll bet you're the kind of guy that would fuck a person in the ass and
not even have the goddamn common courtesy to give him a reach-around.
I'll be watching you.

Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Are you quitting on me? Well, are you? Then quit, you slimy fucking walrus-looking piece of shit. Get the fuck off of my obstacle. Get the fuck down off of my obstacle. Now. Move it. I'm going to rip your balls off, so you cannot contaminate the rest of the world. I will motivate you, Private Pyle, if it short-dicks every cannibal on the Congo.

Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: If you ladies leave my island, if you survive recruit training, you will be a weapon. You will be a minister of death praying for war. But until that day you are pukes. You are the lowest form of life on Earth. You are not even human, fucking beings. You are nothing but unorganized grabastic pieces of amphibian shit. Because I am hard you will not like me. But the more you hate me the more you will learn. I am hard but I am fair. There is no racial bigotry here. I do not look down on ni***rs, kikes, wops or greasers. Here you are all equally worthless. And my orders are to weed out all non-hackers who do not pack the gear to serve in my beloved Corps. Do you maggots understand that?

One of my all time favorite movies was Full Metal Jacket, produced and filmed around the mid 1980's. It was based upon the newbie experience from Boot Camp to war during the Vietnam era. My favorite character was Gunnery Sergeant Hartman played by the wiley R. Lee Ermey. He basically humiliated and removed any form humanity in his barracks by insulting and degrading each recruit. He kind of reminded me of my old high school basketball coach, which helps me understand why he and guys like Bobby Knight act like sociopaths.

Full Metal Jacket other positive influences were on the rap group-Too Live Crew and helped spawn the romantically self entitled hit "Me so Horny-Me love you long time." The line was borrowed from the scene where a Vietnamese prostitute is soliciting soldiers for money. You will also notice that the entire cast and crew has been featured as a lawyer, witness, or criminal at some point in time on various episodes "Law and Order" series, take your pick they have all been used. Other notable contributions to society are the recently released movie "Jarhead" which basically stole about 90 percent of its quotes and style from Full Metal and Platoon and Apocalypse Now and Rambo III. More reasons to wait on the DVD release of notable movies and more scientifical (I made that word up) proof that creativity was murdered by Hollywood.
