Over-rated

Ok, I'm gonna say this and probably catch some flack but its my silly ass blog, so I guess I'm entitled to my opinion..right?? Hahahah!! But seriously, I'm reading 'Rich Dad Poor Dad', for like the 10th time and I totally agree with like 80 percent of the concepts inside the book. But the author mentions something that would get him cussed out in my parents home, and that is: College is not the answer, when it comes to wealth. Everybody makes a big freaking deal about going to college and a lot of people go, but I see so many people who have like 80 grand worth of student loan debt, because Ma and Pa didn't have the finances to pay their way through. So they graduated, and found jobs that paid 35-40 grand a year. Now, I'm not knocking them, but how f-ing long do they think its gonna take to pay that off and how much total money, after interest is calculated in, do they think its gonna cost them when they finish paying it off.
I just believe that a lot of people get education and wealth mixed up. They go to college to get a education but what they really wanted was to build wealth for themselves. That's one of things that irks me about the education system, that we have this group of students who don't go to college, but we classify them as slackers or losers because they either weren't ready or not interested in college at that particular time. Why not teach them entrepreneurial skills in high school..skills that you can use the rest of your life to build wealth for yourself...I mean everybody I know works for a company and I'm not a Harvard Business School graduate, but I would assume a entrepreneur started the business in the first place right??? I just think our country is missing the boat with a outdated..Ineffective education model that's totally out of touch with students needs and the today's ever changing economy. That's my business lecture for the day...I'm going to bed.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
