Reading an article in the Village Voice about student loans, sallie mae, and the whole culture of financial corruption in america. Did you know that the executives at sallie mae command enough in bounuses to pay every employee at least $650,000 a year? Did you know the average credit card debt for the average U.S. citizen is $10,000 dollars? Did you know that student loan balances are traded like stocks on Wall Street, and that the commodity trader who sells and trades the loans, makes about $500,000 a year? Did you know that you live in a system that plays off your financial ignorance in order too take advantage of you, and nobody is trying to stop it? Whats worse is that its becoming irrational to obtain degree's in philosophy, education, or any other career field that can't pay a decent salary over 80 grand.

I was financially illiterate when I graduated from college. Not one f**king person in my life explained too me what a good salary meant or mortgage, retirement, 401-k, or even a savings or checking account consisted of, so basically between the books and the interent, i've accumulated the knowledge that everybody in america should know by like 12 years of age.

The main reasons that nobody in america seems to care about this crisis A)nobody under 40 votes B)Alot of greedy dastardly bastards are making money off it C)Its your f**king responsibility, you snooze you lose. Do you think if our age group voted like the elderly, that our government would let citizens get swamped in massive debt? Do you think they would take our voices over Wall Street lobbyists? Just reading this article justified to me why we shouldn't be spending trillions in Iraq, because we can't get s**t straght at home:ie-New Orleans.
